Alaskan Neurosurgeon, “NeuroTrauma in the Rural Setting”

Tonight, as part of the ONLINE Neurosurgical.TV “NeuroTrauma” Conference, we are lucky to have Roland Torres MD.  Dr. Torres is a nationally recognized NeuroTrauma and Neurocritical care expert.

Expected on the panel are Carlos Llumiguano MD, Neurosurgeon from Ecuador and Spain, Dan Ochieng MD, Neurosurgeon from South Africa, Dr. Rakesh, Neurosurgical Resident from Bangladore, India and others.

He is based at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC), a leading hospital for Alaska Native and American Indian people and Alaska’s only Level II Trauma Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

He served as the Chief of Neurosurgery and Director of Neurotrauma at Stanford’s Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, Calif. Prior to that, he held several positions at the State University of New York, including: Director of Neurosurgical Step-down Unit, Director of Neurotrauma and Critical Care, Director of Neuro-Oncology and assistant professor of neurosurgery. Dr. Torres also sits on the Executive Committee for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) Congress of Neurological Surgery section of Neurotrauma, and is frequently invited to lecture for the AANS Board Review Course.
