Midbrain Surgical Anatomy & Safe Zones
This last session from the Brainstem Series reviews the surgical anatomy of the midbrain and safe surgical zones relevant to brainstem surgery. The discussion focuses on key midbrain landmarks, safe entry corridors, surrounding neurovascular structures, and surgical considerations important for approaching intrinsic brainstem lesions.
Designed for neurosurgeons, residents, and trainees, the video highlights practical anatomical orientation used in brainstem tumor surgery, cavernoma surgery, and intrinsic midbrain lesion approaches. Emphasis is placed on identifying safe entry zones, avoiding critical tracts, and planning operative trajectories.
Part of the The Neurosurgical Case Room educational series dedicated to high-yield neurosurgical anatomy and operative principles.
Rest of the week’s schedule InShaAllah Talah! For Ramadan time stays the same, 2 PM PKT (UTC + 5:00 hours). We will upload the schedules for coming weeks as we go.
